Material guide

Knitting functional garments is as much about tradition, craftsmanship and innovation. Being at the forefront of knitting technology, and knowledge of materials and their properties is extremely important.

We choose materials with care for our environment. Materials that are made to last for generations so that our products can be used year after year.

Benefits with Merinowool

Merino wool is a living material that works with the body. It regulates temperature in a way that no synthetic fiber can – cooling when it’s hot and warming when it’s cold. The natural structure of the wool fiber consists of small air pockets that trap heat when the temperature drops and release excess heat when you get hot. At the same time, it transports moisture away and keeps you dry even during activity – wool can actually absorb up to 30% of its own weight without feeling damp.

Wool keeps you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm – naturally adapting to your body and the climate around you.

Merino wool is also naturally resistant to bad odor. This is due to the fiber’s keratin content and its fat-rich surface that prevents bacterial growth. Thanks to this, the garments don’t need to be washed as often – airing them is often enough.

Function and comfort

Dri-release is a patented synthetic fiber material with a soft cotton feel. By combining synthetic and natural fibers, the material gets the best of both worlds – it transports moisture away, keeps feet dry and feels comfortable against the skin.

Natural materials

Piumafil is a natural material and is a mixture of finer hand-picked cotton and naturally growing Kapok. The combination gives a feeling of unique lightness and an extremely soft and comfortable feel, and also has good moisture transport properties so that the skin is kept dry.

One of the most sustainable alternative to classic yarn.

We put a lot of thought into our choice of yarn. Our recycled polyamide, Reco Nylon, is one of the most environmentally friendly alternatives to classic yarn and consists of 100% recycled waste from the textile industry. The production of Reco Nylon reduces the use of resources such as water, chemicals and energy, by an average of 89% compared to the production of regular polyamide. The feel and comfort of socks knitted from Reco Nylon are at least as good as regular polyamide.

Technically advanced material

Reduct™ is a technically advanced material developed to withstand the toughest conditions. It has exceptional resistance to friction and wear, which means it retains its shape and surface even after long-term use.

The material does not pill, is resistant to chemicals and can be washed over and over again without losing its properties. Because it does not absorb moisture and dries quickly, it reduces friction against the skin and provides a comfortable feeling even during intense activity.

Reduct™ also has excellent color fastness, resists biological fouling and is naturally antibacterial – properties that make it particularly suitable for products that are exposed to both wear and moisture. It does not shrink when washed, tumble dried, making it a durable and reliable choice for those who place high demands on quality and function.
